Nordictrack ski machine

I’m seeing these for ~$200 on ebay, they used to be all the rage before ellipticals, I used one maybe 15 yrs ago, my recollection of the workout is positive. Anyone have experience with owning one? comments?

I have one. Less than $100 on ebay. The shipping cost was higher than purchase price. I use mine mostly for a warmup before lifting in the off-season. If your winter is cold, it can be a change when the bike trainer has you wanting to gouge out your eyes. Family members have tried it but if you don’t cross-country ski it takes longer to figure out. If you have some ski experience, the movement makes more sense. If not you have to visualize that the handles are poles rather than being attached to ropes. I think it (and real skiing) help with running technique. I can’t really say how, but kind of a balance thing.

Yea, I remember there being a learning curve on the ski pole/shuffle thingy, not that easy to get the hang of but I got it ‘okay’ after a few tries. Which model did you get? I’m looking at the pro for $225 shipped.

Just make sure the flywheel isn’t broken. Then you may as well use it as a paperweight.

It’s been about 6 years ago. I think mine is the Pro model. I think it cost at least $50 to ship. A lot of used fitness items are almost new. Un-kept New Years resolutions?
