Been and Adidas guy forever. Tried the Next Vaporfly and was blown away. On my last hundred miles or so of my last Adidas trainer and want something that feels like the Next Vaporfly but for training. Has to have 10mm drop.
Suggestions? Zoom Fly 3?
Peg Turbo 2
.
I run in Zoom Flys and can usually get them pretty cheap. Very similar feel.
I say just run in Next% for everything if you can afford it. I think they last waaaaay longer than people say. I think I’ve been running a training pair for the last 8 months and over 400miles easy. They actually feel better now than my newer pair of next% :).
I use the Zoom Fly 3 but also rotate in Newton and Altra throughout the week.
This is what I use, love peg turbo 2

How about Vomero 14, if you are looking to stay Nike? I’m about due to replace my Vomero 14s and am considering the Fly 3s…but, I do like the feel for the ground (some dirt roads/trails) that I get from my Vomeros over my FK Zoom Flys and my Zoom Fly 1s. And I don’t need (or want?) my training shoe to feel just like my race shoe.
My only gripe against the Vomero 14s is how long it tool the heel collar to break in and not rub me raw for anything over 4 miles.
Zoom fly 3’s or peg turbo’s if you’re wanting to use Nike for everything. Hoka do some great daily trainers
If you’re looking for something that will match the upcoming Next% Alfafly’s, the Next% Tempo’s are supposed to be designed to be the compliment shoe for training: https://news.nike.com/news/air-zoom-alphafly-next-percent
I like running in the ZF3s more than the Next%, but it might be partially due to the fact that I should have half sized up in the Next% as they are pretty tight.
The ZF3s are my favorite shoes that I’ve ever had. I’m not sure if I would race in them, but they are everything I could ask for in a trainer.

I second this…Next% are second-to-none. But ZF3’s are a great training shoe. If you’re patient, and don’t care about colors, you can get them for $80 to $90 shipped from Nike.com, as they regularly discount certain colors throughout the year.
100%! I bought a pair of Peg Turbos to see because I read good things about them but I don’t think they are as good as the ZF3. I like the Peg Turbos but the ZF3 has cushion, good pop, and do not feel bottom heavy to me like some say. I plan to get another pair whenever the price drops because they are amazing.
I have been swapping between the Zoom Fly 3 and the Pegasus Turbo 2. Both are great complements to the NEXT. I slightly prefer the Peg Turbo 2 for long runs though. They are a bit softer. The stiff carbon sole on the ZF3 works well for harder effort days, and also helps acclimate to the stiff NEXT

Same as you, all my shoes are Adidas but fancy trying the Vaporfly: what’s the sizing compared to Adidas, the same?

I agree with this. I’m just using the peg turbos for easy long runs until they’re worn out then going back to Hoka Cliftons for that purpose. The zoomfly is a really really good shoe.
I’ve been doing the same with my Peg Turbos and Fly 3/Flyknits

I just bought the Zoom Fly 3’s, mostly cause they were on super sale for $90. I am not usually a Nike guy. In fact the ZF3 is the only pair I have ever owned. I will say though, that it has been a great shoe so far. Only have about 30 miles on it so far.
They’re pretty true to size - if you’re a 43 euro in other brands you’ll be the same in Nike
.
I like the ZoomFly Flyknits for a daily trainer. You can still get them on eBay in the $70-80 range. Have the ZF3’s in the closet as well and I tend to use them on long runs.
