Nike React 55/87 - decent for running?

A local footlocker is going out of business and I stopped by today… and they have a few boxes of 55s and 87s in my size. The price is good-ish - about $90. I tried them on and “ran” in the store - they feel decent, perhaps akin to Air Pegasus but I might be wrong. I like Nikes for racing but never tried to train in these shoes. YT was not superhelpful in terms of reviews and could not find any real references on any of the legit running sites.

Anyone has any feedback? Thanks in advance.

These are sport style shoes, you don’t want them for running. The Pegasus 36 or 37 is a very comparable price on nike.com right now.

Better off with the Nike React Infinity Run: https://www.google.com/search?q=nike+react+infinity+run&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS866US866&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiOjY-qvbvuAhX0KX0KHcviA7AQ_AUoAXoECBAQAw&biw=1364&bih=665

or the Epic React Flyknit 2: https://www.google.com/search?q=nike+react+epic+flyknit+2&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS866US866&biw=1364&bih=665&tbm=shop&tbs=p_ord:p&ei=uAcRYIOyLIPD0PEPmpapgAs&ved=0ahUKEwiD7sngvbvuAhWDITQIHRpLCrAQuw0I0wooAg

Personally I love the Epics. They are super cushy, blister-free sock upper, light (7.5oz), durable (I get 600mi+). They aren’t speed enhancing like the Nike% shoes, but they are light enough for speedwork and cushioned enough to leave me fresh after long runs.

Thank you!
