Nike Lunar series shoes

I love nike lunar racing shoes, especially the lunar racer 2. I actually train a fair amount in them. I bought several pairs when they were discontinued but my supply is running low. I’m interested to know which the current lunar training shoes is most similar to the soft “feel” of the lunar racer 2. The current lunar models on running warehouse are lunar glide +4, lunar eclipse +2 and lunar fly +3.

Thanks

Hello Jeff and All,

Road Runner has Nike Lunar Glide +4 in stock.

I liked the Nike Lunar Racer too, espcially becaure they are so light, but I pronated and needed some more support, so I moved to lunar glide +4 which is a bit heavier but still soft to run on.

Cheers,

Neal

the lunaracer is still around. just bought a pair today. it went from the original, to the “2”, back to having no number. the newest color i got today was blue w/ an orange swoosh

I second the recommendation for the Lunar Montreal (Lunar Mtrl). Really impressed with this shoe, and I think the upper is much more comfortable.

However, I do think you can still get the Lunar Racer-- do some searching on eBay etc if you are stuck.

Thanks for the replies. I do have the new LR I use for longer races, I just prefer the LR2 for some reason - I think the heel cup on the LR2 is better for me. Since I use them for training, I figured I would try to find something similar to but different than the LR2 and not the LR. Looks like I’ll give the lunar montreal a go.

I just got a pair of Montreals. Looks like a very nice shoe, but have yet to run in them. Depending on the color you want, they are at a GREAT price at Finish Line.

The Lunar Montreal is the same midsole/outsole as the LR1 with a different upper. The Lunarfly2 (not the 3, which is firmer) is the closest to the spongy feel of the LR, but is a much more substantial shoe (8.5oz).
