Nike+ GPS watch vs Garmin Forerunner 110

I’m trying to decide between the Forerunner 110 and the Nike+ watch. They are close in price and seem to offer similar features.

I don’t need anything elaborate, I’d just like to be able to see my heart rate and pace while I run. For post-run analysis, I just want to see a graph of my heart rate and pace.

What do you love or hate about yours?

110 doesnt do instantaneous pace. Only average pace of lap/run. Deal breaker.

If you are going to continue to run or do tri go a head and get a 410, or 610 or look at some of the Polar models. The 110 (no instant pace) is so limiting and my experience with the Nike+ has been miserable (inaccurate distance, pace, takes forever to “connect”). Spending the extra money is well worth the investment. My 610 has been the best all around Garmin watch I have owned (I’ve had a 305, 310, 410, and 500). It connects quick, gives me all kinds of info, and is really easy to switch between bike and run. Just my opinion but the extra $100 - $200 is well worth it.

Right in the middle of testing out the new all in one GPS RC3 from Polar.
I know you did not ask about it but will offer info to you. Basicslly give you the info from my 9 mile run today with some intervals in it. The watch is waterproofed to IPX7. It is geared to the duathlete or to runner / cyclist. But i think and just a guess that a big bro tri watch will soon follow :0). Here is the data from watch:
start time
9:27 A.M.
Duration
01:12:03
Distance
9.00 miles
Average HR
148(84%)
max HR
183(103%)
min HR
37 (21%)
calories
1255 cal
Fat burned %
of calories
11%
Average pace
8:00 min/ml
Max pace
5:55 min/ml
Running index
56
And it also tells sport zone from 1 to 5 with the time in each sport zone.
Also when the watch tells you the data after run it will tell you (in writing on watch) how training went. For instance the watch told me:“Maximum training, that was a hard session! You improved your sprint speed and the nervous system of your muscles which make you more efficiant. This session also increased your resistance to fatigue.” you can do a fitness test weekly/daily/ yearly whenever with the watch and it will update your HR zones accordingly after test. i have been playing around with the watch now for a week.
I charged it once when i opened the box when it was shipped to me. It has lasted 7:41:13 hours of training use with that charge so far and as daily watch keeping time for the week. It still shows half full battery life. It is easily charged on computer jack or from the wall jack of my samsung phone.
The longest it took to get a gps signal was 2:00 minutes and quickest was like 30 seconds. On the bike it worked awesome and had all the same data but of course different results. For HR training I definetly would recommend this watch. Coupled with Polars reliability and customer service i would highly recommend this watch. A friend ran side by side with me during the week with the timex GPS watch. Both watches had readings within 2/10ths of a mile of each other. With the Polar watch being a bit shorter. I did run on his left side though :0)
Hope this helped you out a bit with decision either way.

or you could just answer the question, not provide something completely unrelated!

I’ve had the Nike+ for about a year. I guess I should say I’ve had three Nike+'s over the past year b/c it seems that they just don’t hold up. They look great and the display is huge but they get beaten up quickly due to the smooth plastic. Nike has been helpful in replacing the watches but at some point enough is enough. Our old Garmin never have us trouble.

I got a nike + gps watch about a month ago - I LOVE it - and I wear it as a regular watch and get compliments all the time.
My forerunner 305 I never wore except running.

Not happy with my Nike gps watch. Too wonky and not as reliable as my prior garmin

There is the new FR 10 by garmin that looks really nice for the price point, dcrainmaker had an good summary on the watch. I would also seriously look at the timex marathon gps watch and their new run trainer, both are super nice watches at an amazing price point.
