Nike air zoom tempo next% (1)

Hi,

I bought these about a month ago and only use them for tempo runs or 400m repeats. Has anyone else had rubbing from the heel on these? I only have it on my left foot which is strange but I have run in them 4 times and its always the same result and after the first run I got a blister. I decided to not run in them a few weeks and then tried them again 3 times afterwards and it occurs each time. Thoughts?

No, I do not have problem with the aztn% …
but
with my Hoka atr challenger I have a similar problem … only the right shoe, on the spot right behind my tiny toe … really strange that sometimes a shoe does this!?

I never got a blister from these but I only ran in them a couple times. As much as love their race models, the tempo never felt right for running.

I do love them as a shoe to wear around though, super comfortable for that.

I had issues with them digging into my Achilles heel. The would cut in pretty bad. I kept thinking they would break in buy after about 50 miles I gave up and returned them. Too expensive of a shoe to deal with that.

The Nike Tax.

A lot of people running in the super Nikes experience this. Look around after a race and you’ll be able to tell immediately who raced in these shoes!

Nike race shoes are outstanding…their trainers are meh.

I hated the shoes and gave them to a friend to try. They cut up his achilles really good too.

Your L foot is probably a hair shorter than your right foot and/or your heel is narrower allowing the shoe to slide around a bit.

The easiest solution is use a heel lock lacing. This will solve that issue > 80% of the time.

Fun fact: There is also some research showing runners who use this lacing system tend to have a slightly lower incidence of injury.

No issues here. I love this shoe, using mainly for tempo runs, mile repeats and my 15+ mile long runs. I have about 450 miles on my first pair.

I found the Pegasus Turbo an amazing trainer but Nike has now stopped making them…

As several here have mentioned, I too got severe rubbing on my achilles from these shoes (L side for me). When I examined the shoes carefully, I could see that the heel tab on the left was more “hooked” in towards my achilles than on the right shoe. I carefully trimmed the top of the tab on the offending shoe and now I get no abrasions.

I used a seem ripper to undo the top of the heel loop thingie so it still is intact…then trimmed off the inverted V heel tab thingie.

I love the turbos. Am now running in the Noosa which I find quite similar. Really good shoe. The old Noosas was horrible, but the new one is great. Same weight as the Turbo.

Exactly, It rubs my right achilles and I tore it ten years ago and it makes that onn a different shape - I have to tape it so it doesnt blister

Thanks for that any particular pattern you recommend?
