Nice showing Cipo

I read after he lost the sprint on the final stage, he basically stormed out of there, did not talk to the press, etc.

Nice job. What a crybaby-pussy he must be.

Yeah. . .that’s my take. . .NOT!!! Nice flaming speculatory post, though. Definitely top-ten for the month.

My opinion is my opinion. Therefore it is not flaming nor speculatory.

His behavior doesn’t do much for promoting cycling in this country…which I’m sure is not on his agenda anyway.

according to the team director of Domina Vacanze he thought that he had not even taken third place. thus, not showing up for the presentation because he didn’t know he was in a podium position.

and that’s a really assinine post. especially with how often Cipo has been praising the US racing in the press (and smiling in every picture whether on or off the bike.)

the “what a cry baby-pussy he must be” is a flame. No two ways around that one, Tx, your opinion or not.

How can you NOT know you are on the podium?

Anyway…I don’t have that much energy on this topic, just pointing out something that looked sh*&ty to me…

Who know what Cipo’s thinking was after the last stage, but I do know that a friend of mine went up to race in the crit in Athens on Saturday and told me that Cipo was very accessible to the fans after a few stages. Even got to ride with him on a cool down - Way cool. LA on the other hand (with good reason) was very business like and after a few autographs, went straight into his bus. Give Mr. Euro dude a break.

OK. That sounds pretty cool.

I asked Cipo if he needed a push when going up Brasstown Bald. He said, “Big push, big push”. So I got to push him a bit. I then gave his team mate a little help after he nodded yes and he gave me his water bottle.

Cipo also talked to the crowd as he signed in for that day.

It’s only my opinion but TxDude is a half a sissy bastard. I know I don’t know him or his side of the story, but why should that stop me from posting.

Let me add my .02 here. I live only 1.5 hrs away from the mountain stages and watched Stage 5 & 6. On Stage 5, going up Wolf Pen Gap Mario was suffering big time going up the 10% grade. When he reached the KOM on top of Woodys Gap for the 2nd and last time he threw his arms up in the air like he just won a sprint and yelled “I made it!” The crowd went crazy!

On Stage 6, going up Hog Pen Gap at mile 5 which has a gradient around 10-12%, he looked rather comfortable which was amazing to me. Standing next to me was a beautiful brunette with long pants and a very skimpy bikini top on. Yes, she was very healthy! As Mario approached us he was in the middle of the small peloton. Mario saw the brunette and drifted outside of the peloton toward her and put his biggest smile on and totally concentrated on her as he rode by, even looking back as he kept going! He totally forgot he was doing a category 1 climb that was 7 miles long!

Also, before the start of Stage 7, a friend of mine went over to Mario’s team trailer and got the autograph and picture with the whole team including Mario. My friend said Mario and his team were very laid back while he tried the same thing with the Posties and felt like it was all business.

So, my point is that Mario definitely adds personality to the race and the sport. I don’t know why he walked away after Stage 7, but he sure did give my friends and I some great memories!
