Plus it’s much smarter race planning as after 5 pm the race is small and aid stations are limited and ambulance safety to a small distance.
Like you pass you at kona queen K right into the energy lab , you got to get an ambulance out there and back vs someone within a 5 km race distance so easy on the volunteers, and race organizers.
Even the swim in nice is better basic math 1/4 sides and the water here is amazing
The course is a lot of up but very little steep up, the downhill does have lots orange paint but if you haven’t ridden it be more careful with the speed bumps right before a hard turn.
Also at about 168 km there is no smooth pavement it looks like they are either about to put it down tomorrow or the next day as it’s all grooved out , but if not paved by race day yikes is in a bit of a right turn too.
If you go to Cannes the Thai place Chaï Dee is very good . If you also want to feel poor , go to Cannes.
No about the same as Monaco but maybe a bit less smug, haha . I have been and going again tomorrow.
We did 340 km on the motorcycle today and tomorrow plan for another 150 before returning the bike it’s pretty awesome riding here. The lane splitting is new and I don’t trust people but it’s makes a motorcycle for transportation so much faster than a car during busy hours .
What do we think are the odds for a wetsuit-legal swim on Sunday. At the practice swim (4 days prior to race day) they said it was 1 full degree (Celsius) above the cutoff. I don’t know how much the water temperature varies around here but that sounded like it was unlikely to get under the limit.
Anyone have any experience with water temperature variations in Nice?
