NFL and Finger Gun Celebration

Jet’s Allan Lazard gets unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

My real issue here? That these fucking players feel it’s necessary to celebrate for any routine catch or tackle. Bro, it’s your job to fucking catch the ball for a first down and it wasn’t even that great! Plus you lost.

These clowns celebrating the stupidest stuff really “groinds my geahs.”

I share your real issue. I remind my grandsons each time they go into their dance move in celebration that “that’s not right.”

Sadly, I don’t see our issue fixing itself.

The finger gun crackdown and the taunting crackdown do provide an “as good as it gets” restriction.

As for losers celebrating, they probably won at the gaming table so it’s all good. :upside_down_face:

The most influential Jet ever might have been Mark Gastineau and his sack dance. Ugh.

Act like you’ve done it before

If I knew how to post the Randy Moss celebration of him mooning the crowd towards you I would. Its a game. Let people have fun. Maybe they should ban the crowd from cheering also. Act like your team has scored before and sit down and be quiet!

Not a game, it’s a business. They wanna be in the spotlight? Then we can criticize.

Thinking you’re special enough to celebrate a routine 12 yard pass (while you were losing) in a way that resulted in a penalty is just plain moronic. It’s not about letting them have fun. Celebrate a touchdown or field goal or even a winning tackle. But tbe routine shit is laughable.

Clowns celebrate when they do something simple. Lol

What is laughable is complaining about it on the internet, but here I am so I’m guilty too. I have to stop stumbling into the Lavender Room. Too slow of a day at work I guess

The guy gets paid almost $10MM a year to score touchdowns. His ego set the Jets back 15 yards when his initial catch would have put them 12 yards away from the end zone. They lost by 1 point.

I stand by my assertion that shit is laughable.

Only in the USA can you open carry a real gun but not an imaginary gun.

@gofigure Lazard fined $14k by the Jets.

Pretty sure a defensive player on the Bucs either sacked the QB or it was a TFL… Regardless, he did like an army crawl and pretended to shoot a rifle or something. Wonder if he gets fined too.

Seems like a silly thing to fine someone over to me.

I saw that too. There was no penalty for that I don’t believe.

Yesterday SC’s Dylan Stewart sacked Ole Miss QB and stood over him and celebrated by shooting him with a machine gun. Also got a 15 yard penalty.

Shit is so lame.

Also to address the fine itself, I guess the NFL is cracking down on ‘violent gesture’ celebrations. Regardless of any irony or perceived silliness, that’s the new rule and guns certainly can fit into the category of violence.

Regarding the Jets levying a fine, he cost them a potential game winning chance. It’s not like it was a holding call or offside. He willingly broke an NFL rule after the play was done and cost them the chance. Seems like a legit fine if I’ve ever seen one.
