Newton quality?

Anyone out there have a problem with quality. I order a pair of 2013 distance S and the threading next to the stretch panel started to come undone emailed newton and they were quick to respond and sent me out a replacement pair. Well the pair they sent out had the same problem in a dif area. So is it just me or has anyone out there had a problem with the 2013 distance S model. Put photos below.

I work for a shoe company and these things really just happen. They should not have an issue sending you a new pair. Maybe someone at the factory was having a bad day  However it is odd that you found bad stitching twice like that.

If it was in a spot that didn’t get a lot of wear I wouldn’t worry but the is a big stress point so has me worried.

i just looked at the two new pair i got and neither had a stiching issue. i bet they would take them back.

Based on the pictures I don’t think you have a legitimate complaint. However I do think that this is something to monitor, especially at their price point. Tim

That was my whole point for the complaint. If they were some cheap 60 dollar shoes ok my falt but for a pair of 500 mile shoes not so much.

You put 500 miles on Newtons? My feet hurt just thinking about that…

That being said, I could care less if there are minor stitching issues… Document it, send an email to Newton and if they fail in 200-250 miles contact them again… The fabric on my altras tore after 30 miles but it didn’t effect the integrity of the shoe so I just kept running in them… 600+ miles of running plus daily wear and I just retired them…

Run off road in them once after rain…
No more problem…
At least not one you’ll give a shit about…

With a pic and a letter if they fall apart in use return them then… At least you get some free Kms…

Don’t think I have ever looked at mine that close. I just throw them on and go run. One thing you can certainly say is newton’s customer service is absolutely top grade. If the blemish bothers you, I’m sure they’ll handle it.

I have owned about 6 or 7 pairs of Newtons and have never had any quality issues.

Truly I never look too closely at my Newtons once they arrive, I just run in them.

I have never experienced anything negative about the shoes other than too much heel wear, which supposedly they are fixing with a carbon heel plate in some future releases.

My guess is that your feet are just on the edge of being too wide for the toe box. I have about 8 pairs of newtons they all have that same ish stitching issue. But it’s only on my right foot and that foot is mostly wider. I’ve emailed Newton as well and they would do the same thing except this would be with every pair I have so kind of not worth the hassle. I can still get some high miles out of the shoe before they are totally shot.

These shoes have not been run in the were brand new from newton.
