Newbie Question...Fluid vs. Magnetic?

I have both (now), why is my Cycleops Fluid so much better or popular than my Magnetic? Is there an easy answer to this? Should it be obvious when I ride it?

Thanks.

Your senses are not tricking you. The fluid trainers do have a better feel for them. The two most popuslr and best unites the Cyclops and the Kurt Kinetic have a great feel. I have ridden a number of magnetic trainers and they all seem to have this dead feel to them - like you are not really riding a bike.

Spend a couple hours on each and it will be very clear to you, like night and day.

I have a Cycleops magneto… in all honestly, I almost like it better than the fluids. Its extremely quiet, and puts out a ton of resistance. I think its one of the best bargains out there for trainers.

I have to agree though, that regular magnetic trainers, i dont like.

Are there any direct comparisons between the Cyclops Fluid 2 and Kurt Kinetic Road or Pro Machine?

Does one offer a better road feel? I’m thinking the Kurt Kinetic would be a better choice with resistance since it has a larger/heavier flywheel and the option of adding more?

I have a Kurt Kinetic Road Machine and to me, it seems to offer the best feel of any of the trainers on the market. It really does feel like you are riding straight along the road.

I alternate between the KK, for harder interval type of workouts and the rollers for easier aerobic and technique sessions.
