You adjust the compression rate by twisting the socks. Racing flats have a compression fabric upper also.

When I went down to do the practice swim in Louisville this morning I saw at least a half dozen people wearing compression socks for the walk down to the swim … unreal 
I think that there were at least 50 people at the expo sporting compression socks too…I think they are the worst trend to hit the sport in the 20 years that I’ve been involved and there have been some pretty strange things over the years.
So agreed and is a reason runners tease triathletes so much!! same with training in 404’s! To each is own though, whatever floats your boat!

What is the deal with training on Zipps? I could see if you have a powertap and don’t want multiple wheel sets. But otherwise it seems a little decadent to me.

F! That at least a long race. I was at the Chicago tri expo took the picture there and half of the people were lounging at the Hilton lobby with compression socks!

My daughter and I just came back from checking out the IMLou finish area (which, by the way, is one of the coolest that I’ve ever been at … I can see myself downing a few at the Hard Rock and cheering on finishers tomorrow night!) and as we were walking back a few triathletes walking ahead of us with the compression socks and sandals (a lock that horrifies my 13 year old) walked by a table outside of one of the restaurants along 4th St. … the patrons at this table all looked at each other and broke out laughing.
