New wheels ordered, need advice on which tires to get?

Ordered a pair of Carbon clinchers and need advice on which tires to get (Maybe multiple choices). I am doing an Ironman next April.

These are 25mm wheels.

Yoeleo SATC60|88 Road Pro wheelset.

Also, for the cassette I was thinking a Ultegra CS-6800. Do I need a special tools to put one of this cassette on the wheel (I know I need a chain whip)?

Thanks!

You don’t need a chain whip to install a cassette.

You just need a lockring tool.

Continental Grand Prix 4000s II 23mm. Get like 3 sets so that you can train on them and save a pair to put on a couple weeks before the race.

I’d also suggest latex tubes.

ok. That’s what I am looking for, but not sure which one fits the Ultegra cassette.

Maybe this one:

Park Tool Cassette/Rotor Lockring Removal Tool - FR-5/FR-5G

I thought it would be better to get a wider tire. That’s why I got the 25mm size wheels.

GP4000II or the Attack/Force combo set with latex tubes.

Yes, you want the FR-5G tool. It fits Shimano and SRAM cassettes as well as centerlock rotor lockrings.

Just don’t buy a Campagnolo lockring tool.

The 23mm wide tires should be fastest.

I looked up those wheels, and the spec said 23mm wide.

They come in both 23mm and 25mm.

If you want to go faster, buy 23mm.

I read this article:

http://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/specials/conti-gp4000s-ii-23-25-28

I’ll see what I’ll do. Most likely 25c tire. This way I can use less pressure and have a more comfortable ride. Roads here in Texas can be quite awful.

Thanks for the advice on the tire brand though  I think I will get the Continental one (gp4000s-ii).

buy this, could be one of my favorite tools
http://www.abbeybiketools.com/collections/tools/products/dual-sided-crombie-tool

and these are way better than a chain whip
http://pedros.com/products/tools/cassette-and-chain/vise-whip/

with that abbey tool you don’t have to remove the skewer. makes it all that much easier.

What bike?

The Conti GP4000IIS in 23c measures 25mm and the 25c measures 27mm, so hopefully you won’t have any clearance issues with your frame.

It’s a Fuji Norcom straight. I’ll write to Fuji and ask.
