New Vision Metron TFE Extensions

At this time we do not have a good way to install them on on Argon bike.

@Kevin@VisionUSA - Is there an adaptor for the Profile Design Aeria Evo?

Question to people that have been using the extensions.

I finally got these with the P5 adaptor and installed it on my bike and it feels like the back part of the pad area is curving downwards.

If I just put my elbow on the back part of the pad, my forearms are angled up and my palms reach the top of handles (i.e. the front of the aerobars).
If I push my forearms down to be parallel to the aerobars, I can hold the handle, but my elbow is about a cm above the pad and its very uncomfortable.

Is this just me? would be great to get other’s experience. I even tested putting more padding on the back end of the pad to support the elbow.
Pics below to illustrate, thanks.

Alas this was my issue too - I ordered according to the Vision sizing guide the Mediums for my arms - but suffered the same issue as you - so ended up ordering the Large (yes a very expensive exercise…)
the mediums are on my indoor bike, so not all lost.

If you can, go a size up.

This is already XL (tried L and it was too short), and I don’t think my arms are that long. I guess it’s just the design as was mentioned above.
I’ll just add padding under the elbow, its very uncomfortable for me to put the weight on the forearm above it and leave the elbow hanging.

Thanks for the replies.

Perhaps the CeeGee’s could help?

.

At this time we have no adapters for Profile Designs bars.

I went with L and have the same arm positioning as your second photo. That is the correct position. I ordered CeeGee arm pads for the extensions. The CeeGee padding goes all the way up the extension and gives more complete arm support. Although it was different at first to have my elbow off of the back of the extension, I have really enjoyed the comfort and support of these extensions. Yes the fit is different, I get it but you will adjust and really like it.

Kevin, are there adapters that allow for a bit more reach? I’m not sure how far out I can safely install the TFE Pro extensions and may need the help of a bracket or adapter that adds reach.

Not at this time. We do not have a wide option.

I was able to build my bike easily based on what many people discussed here.

Thank you to everyone who contributed here.

I did some 3D printing for the BTA, Computer mount, and Extension Grip

Any chance of sharing the STL of the grips? they look great!

Nice job - bike looks epic! and that dinner plate of a chainring - whoa!!

I will pay you to print one of those BTA/Computer mount & grips right now! DM me.

The grip is a typical FDM using fuzzy skin. Let’s upload some more detailed photos.

When my company’s work becomes a little more relaxed (maybe… next week?),I plan to share the STL of the components I printed on Thingiverse for free.

If I post it there, I will bring a link and mention it here.

All printing components are personalized to me and may not be suitable for everyone.

For example, the grip was tailored to my hand and I had to cut off about 20mm of the end of the extension.
If I cut this out, the epoxy inside the tube would interfere with the shifter installation, so I had to use a Dremel to carve out the inside.

I can’t recommend this annoying and dangerous thing to others. If you use my design without cutting the extensions, it will look ridiculous.
Therefore, I share my design, but I hope you use it only for reference purposes.

Thank you for interest in my hobby-level work

Could you let us know? My fitter flagged that I really should have about 20 more mm of forward adjustment as well as 20mm laterally.

I take it the armrest angle adjustment plate won’t work? Part 670-0276000050

We have no plans to make a wide option unfortunately. The plates are the same width. They are just a replacement part.

@sajaman: Any chance you could share the printing files?

Kind regards, Dan

I’ve been busy living a busy life in the real world, so I came back here quite late.

As it occurred to me, I quickly uploaded my design and left a link.

it requires some tricky work, so honestly, I recommend using my design only as a reference.

This looks amazing, appreciate the links on the front end, could you provide a link for the rear bottle mount too ?

Looking to get this printed now, what would be the recommended screw length? I assume it is M4?

I’ve just realised the link here is no longer valid:

Would you be able to reupload it?

I think you found it in my signature on the Prusa Printables site

I’m away the moment. But as soon as I’m home I’ll tell you the bolt sizes. But yeah M4 rings a bell. Plus you will need an M7 nut for the M7 bolt that is in the kit from Vision
