New TT bike

Hi, just wondering if anyone can help me out, I just bought one of the 2010 giant tt bikes, I’ve been set up properly by my coach and everything feels good, but I feel like I’m always slipping off the front of the saddle.

If I just let it happen and sit on the rivet my knees are hitting my elbows. It’s a fizik tri saddle on the bike, and to me it looks like it’s got quite a downwards slope even sitting level. What are my options? New saddle? Move it back a bit and just sit forward? Or should I try tilting it backwards a bit? Just thought I’d see what people have to say on here.

new saddle maybe?

I had that same problem, different bike. I adjusted my elbow pads so they were slightly “uphill” That gave my whole body a little traction from sliding forward which kept me on the saddle better.

why don’t ya ask the coach for help?

if the saddle appears tilted down, an obvious first thing to try would be to make the saddle level.

if you are like 130lbs with a 400 watt FTP though, this problem can be hard to resolve (see, contador, menchov, and other pro tour riders)

Put a level on your seat and see if it is pointed down.

Yeah the seat is definitely down hill. We did that to lower me a bit and point my body down a bit so I could get in the aero bars easier because they are pretty low even at the highest point (only ever had clip ons on a road bike). I think I’ll try levelling the seat and see how that goes. But if you look at pics of the bikes online the seats look pointed down even when level. Are all tt saddles made with a slope like that for a reason?
