I’ve purchased a 2022 Trek Domane SL5 that I am pumped to pick up soon (driving 175mi to get it) but I need some help figuring out which seat post I need.
The 54 comes stock with the short post with 20mm offset and has a maximum saddle rail height of 70cm. If I’m measuring according to Trek’s standards–BB center to rail at middle of the clamp–then I come in around 69cm and that’s not leaving me with much room. The longer seat post has a saddle rail height range of 67.5-73.5 which puts me in a nice spot with wiggle room on both sides.
What I need help with is the setback. The post comes in 20mm and 5mm and since my current ride is on a 0 offset I’m assuming I need the 5mm but would like to be certain. Cyclenutz’s Velogicfit calculator helped me figure out what bars and stem I’ll need but not sure how to read the numbers for saddle setback.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
