New ride for Al Sultan

So no more Cannondale for the bearded mankini one. It has all the new gen aero features, but 10K for the “fuselage” ouch! The new superbikes are certainly getting pricey.

That bike looks wicked fast.

if it is “Di2 compatible only” then why is it shown with traditional bar end shifters?
It is weird it is like an actual picture of the bike, but the cockpit looks like a computer generated image… it must be the lighting

Did you notice no cable stop in the chain stay? It can ONLY be used with some sort of electronic shifting (i.e., Shimano).

I’m sure the electronic stuff works great but I’m against using it in any sort of competition. Putting a battery on a bike to do something that is responsible for the bike’s movement (i.e., as opposed to a battery in a cycling computer) means the the rider is no longer 100% responsible for that bike’s performance. If I blow a shift because I’m tired then that’s the nature of sports. I don’t want a battery artificially help me.

Beautiful bike. I like a tad adjustability and that bike looks as though it has near zero.

Might be a partial prototype or a mock up. With DI2 and some race wheels that bike would cost some serious cash…probably more than I payed for my car.

Kevin

that is siiiiiiiccckkkkk

The front end is adjustable in the same way that the new front ends of the Specialized/Scott/Giant/Felts are. Nice aero spacers to bring the aerobars up while the base bars stay low.

Chris

Felts? I havent seen any new Felt’s that look like that. How did I miss that?

Nice, but I don’t see anywhere to put my Bento Box???

Garmin is now riding the TT bike with shorter Bayonet forks that sit the “stem” (as it were) down in front of the head tube.
The brake cable routing on those 3T base bars are shite, but the rest of the setup is quite nice.

gonna be upwards of $17,000…HOLY SHIT

Two sizes available? Whoever bankrolled that bike must have some deep pockets and not mind losing a ton of cash.

I’m fairly certain the FRAME is a CAD sketch, probably imported into 3D studio, or maybe one of the plugins for AutoCad. The wheels and components are then most likely photographs that have been imported. But I’d be very surprised if that’s a “real” bike. The plugin for AutoCAD, the name of which I forget, is awesome. I saw some catalog shots generated by it. It’s way better than shooting actual images. They are super high gloss.

makes sense, you can see the components are real (crank, chain rings etc) but frame/wheels do look a little “fake”
If they are talking about getting this to Faris by Kona, wouldn’t there be a real bike already?

Ewan

A Storck bike or other product of his seem to be up for Eurobike awards each year and he is one of the judges.

sure does look cool!

I doubt he will ride on the new one though just after receiving at interbike. This is the new bike he is riding currently, maybe a temp solutiuon until the big one arrives.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Faris ride it if he got it even a few days before the race. This is the guy who switched aerobars two days before he won…
