I was in Bermuda last year and someone mentioned this.
Something to look at if you are thinking about going is check the cruise lines. There are a few that go there and stay a few days. Just maybe and it would be cool to cruise there do the race and cruise back. Great deals if they have a cruise during that time frame.
FIGURES!!! We go to Bermuda every spring, but this year we raced in Switzerland so we moved our Bermuda trip to November 1st! 10days late…and my husband also wants to do Alcatraz and he could have gotten a slot!! The swim will be soooo nice, bike challenging since they are coming from the dockyard…the run is going to be amazing throught he beautiful trails which are an old railway bed (very protected from the sun)! I am so jealous.

At the end of last year, I added up all my swim meters and yards and converted it to miles. I forget the total distance - but it was enough to reach Bermuda, starting from Sand Beach. Assuming I were swimming in a perfectly straight line…
