New pup

Please allow me to introduce my new pup. I called him Monte, but my kids changed his name to Bear. Pre-groom picture:

Post-groom picture:

Little dog and big dog are getting along. I think they bonded during the grooming ordeal, and today they had a ton of fun at the dog park. Kirby is teaching Bear to hunt lizards, get in and out of the car, go up and down steps, and other useful life skills.

Looks sweet! How/where did you get him?

This the Wisconsin breed?

Love puppy pics

our Vizsla has turned into a vicious guard dog. If any intruder is made of sugar they will certainly be licked to death

Oh, boy. It’s a long story. I found him two weeks ago in a Montana store. My husband and kids and I agreed to get another allergy friendly dog, but my husband wanted a small one. This guy is not small. He’s 4 months old and 30lbs. But I think his personality makes up for it.

Basically, I looked in this pup’s eyes, and I could see he is a very good boy. He could see I might be an improvement over the horse trough he was living in. It was a spur of the moment decision (but backed by my entire lifetime of experiences, really?)

Anyway, he is really delightful.

Is he a Doodle?

He sounds delightful.

So, hard to understand from your story, was he essentially a rescue?

That’s excellent. Nothing better than new puppies.

No, he’s not a rescue. He was at a store. He seems to have spent a fair amount of time in the horse trough they kept him in there. He couldn’t walk with me to the car; I had to carry him. He’s really good at waiting and he’s super friendly. Walking on a leash, going through doorways, seeing trees, going up and down stairs, potty training are new to him.

Bear is a doodle mix, but I’m not sure what kind. The papers given to me say he’s a standard poodle, but he’s clearly not.

The groomer discovered stitches in his tail, so his tail was cut off. I’m not sure why that’s ever done. He wags what’s left of it. He seems very happy and even tempered.
