Our pre-construction walkthrough is today. I figure the hole digging will start in a week or two. Estimated completion time is 3.5 to 4 months. 40’x15’, spa is 7’x7’, sun shelf is 10’x7’. Full cage pool enclosure, auto fill/drain, 3’6” to 5’6” depth, salt system, 1200sqft. of pavers on deck/lanai.
Here in NZ, there ain’t gators, but a pool or in-ground hot tub would have to be fully fenced to prevent kiddos from falling in. GMAN’s as shown would not be permissible here as kiddos can access pool from house/lanai.
It’s not just a fence. It’s a full cage enclosure like this:
It does several things: keeps out critters (I live on a pond in Florida with gators), it keeps out annoying pests like mosquitoes and no-see-ums, it keeps the pool much cleaner as you don’t have leaves and all that falling into the pool, and it helps with some sun protection and keeping the pool cooler during the summer due to less sun.
Really beautiful pool and set up there, but man all I can see is knocking down those stairs, extending 7ft of them to 75 ft and putting in a lane line. Seems like room is not an issue, but perhaps you dont partake in that activity anymore…
I wish. My yard is only 72’ wide in total. To which I can only use 54’ due to easements. So I have about 7’ of decking on each side to go with the 40’ pool.
Do you think you’d really use the lounge chairs half in/out of the pool? Had those at a resort we stayed. Always felt like I wanted to be totally out or totally in the water.
Most pool companies won’t go deeper than 6’. I really don’t see a reason to have it deeper than 5’6” though. Anything more than that means the water is over most everyone’s head.
