Right now there are plans to see the Dr next week.
Last week I was out of town traveling, but still running. Similar surfaces to where I normally live (mixture of treadmill/road/trail). Mileage/intensity were consistent. However I walked around for quite a few hours sightseeing one day. The next morning, I had a fairly severe pain on the outside (lateral) of the arch on my right foot. I later ran on it, and the pain felt better while running then walking.
I have run on it a few times since, with many days off with mixed results. Either I can run and there is minimal pain or I try to run and the pain is at a level in which I do not wish to run.
Sometimes the pain is non-existant during the day, other times it feels like a dull ache. Sometimes the pain goes away if I walk around more. It started off far more sharp but the pain has dulled some.
I sit at a desk most of the day for work. Sometimes it almost feels like that same area of my foot is falling asleep, or at least a similar feeling, not quite pins/needles. For the most part the pain is always there (low level). I do feel like when I am wearing ‘work’ shoes that the pain does dissipate some compared to barefoot at home, or in running shoes.
I have fat/flat feet, and run in a mixture of flats (Brooks ST4/T6) and netrual (Ghost), none of the shoes have excessive mileage. I always stretch after runs, this may have been the only thing that changed while traveling (in that I believe my stretching routine may have been shortened). I do not wear any special supports/orthotics when running, but I do everyday in regular shoes.
Some mornings it is a sharp pain, but when I start walking it dulls.
I do slightly overpronate, but land with a well defined midsole strike. ~35-45miles/week.
Any insight?
