It’s hard to look past the Prime 343 disc wheel when it is so cheap in comparison to these super wheels. I know the aerodynamics are likely to be a different ballpark, but the weight is comparable and the cost differential will allow you to optimise many other areas.

Any idea what the watts saving is for disc wheel vs disc wheel as an average? Is it that much?

Minimal. That’s why a wheel cover is often recommended. Doesn’t look as cool or come with that whump whump whump sound though.

it’s a good point, but 42g lighter and 2.3mm wider ID rim track is commendable. The only other disc with that wide of an ID is the Revolver and it’s also 40+g heavier. Innovation cost $$$ and I cheer it on.

My answer to your post was a bit of a leap, the wheel looks fantastic and has some interesting features. I would just find it a stretch to pay that much more when you could spread the cash around on other marginal gains too.

I’d be tempted if I ever found it with a 25-30% sale though.

The Swiss Side disc is 20mm ID, structural, and is listed at 1100g. ~$300 USD cheaper, too.

Same with DT Swiss designed by Swiss side (which would probably be my choice from the current crop) BUT, 1mm more ID is 5% wider ID which allows lower pressure, wider tires, etc

From what I understand they are exactly the same wheels with the exception of graphics? Possibly the hubs are different, but I know the Swiss Side uses the DT Swiss 180 EXP hub. Certainly a lot of good options out there for sure. My Swiss Side order of the Disc + 625/800 wheelset shipped today

Awesome, congrats!

I’m curious about the surface finish on the Black Inc. They make no mention or marketing claims about it…

I feel compelled to note that our Hed Vanquish disc has been 21internal for 6 or 7 years - since whenever we started making it. They’re going about 1150g at present. Innovation does indeed take money.

I was looking for that yesterday and couldn’t find it on your website! Link?

As well as the HED noted above, there’s also the Cadex and a few Chinese ones being 21mm internal width. So there are a few (but not many).

Cadex tubular only, right?

Tubeless. Tubular doesn’t have any inner width. There’s also the Caden (not Cadex). So Black Inc. is definitely not the first or only one (edit: or second for that matter).
