New bike 54 or 52?

I currently have a Felt S32 52cm with a 100 stem. Fits great. I was told I fall on the line between a 52 and 54 Felt and to pick the smaller of the two for tris…I’m new.

I want to upgrade to a different Felt. I’ve found several on here an Ebay, but they are all 54cm.

Anyone see an issue with me going to a 54 with a 8 or 9 stem? would it fit the same as a 52 with a 100?

You got a license for those guns…!! You brute…

I think you need a few more spacers also…

Watch out for that cardboard box. How much wattage are you putting on that rear wheel with those jumpers?

The 54 has a higher head tube if you need it. Otherwise go with the 52. My $.02.

EDIT: Watch out for Felt B2’s on ebay - make sure it’s legit before you get involved.

I would stay with the 52 if I were you. I once made the mistake of going with a larger frame and regretted it. Always go with the smaller frame that fits you.

Ditto on the 52. You don’t need a taller HT.

Are you torturing people in your garage?

After careful analysis using your picture and a size 52, along with some crazy photoshop skills, I’d say a 54 would be a better fit. Maybe even a 56.

Dude,
Are those defibilators hanging down from the wall?

Dude,

I take all the help I can get to cut down on the body weight… Including defibs!

Seriously. I appreciate all the input. I’ll stick with my baby 52.

Great balancing act on the bike  I’d stay with the 52.

Fit looks good now, I don’t know if the frame is the first place I’d look to upgrade. But of course, I’d never question a man of your size, sir.

I had a 54CM felt roadbike and bought a 54CM S22. Biggest mistake I ever made. I was so stretched out on the 54 it was rediculous. They have notoriously long head tubes. I have since sold it and now ride a 51 Orbea Aletta TT bike and it’s perfect. My new raod bike is a look kg386 in a 51 and it’s also much beter for me. They also have long top tubes so it rides like many 53’s from other makers.

i would also say stay with the 52. You might be able to actually place a 90 stem on this one and get your angle closer to 90 degrees

If it were me, I’d stick with the 52.

Do you have race wheels? If so, never mind. If not, I’d get a faster set of wheels before swaping the frame.

Hopefully I can go faster scared than you can mad

Cheers,

Paul

WOW- Looks unanimous on the frame.

I’m taking everyone’s advice and keeping the 52.

In response to the other questions:

I do not have race wheels. I’m not doing anything over an Olympic and wasn’t sure if the money would be well spent.I really don’t know how much time they will save me? I live in AZ and will primarily only race there, if anyone has any suggestions on wheels.

Regarding the cockpit getting tighter with a 90 stem. I thought the fit was pretty much at 90 degrees. Ironcially, there’s a guy selling a nice HED aerobar with a Rithcey 90 for $300. Actually thought about upgrading to it. However, I get more comfort with my elbows extended a tad rather than inward. Thought about getting a 110 to increase the distance for a better ride, despite that idea goign against the standard FIT.
