I am looking at a new bar setup for my Shiv. Could not get my correct fit, did it myself, with my old set up. Finally got a new proper fit done again after trying to play around with my old fit myself to tweak a few things. So… now looking to get the bike to work well with my new fit. I will preface by saying all of these bars can achieve my new fit so that is not a limiting factor. The bars I am looking at are as follows
Profile Designs Aeria Ultimate
Enve
TriRig Alpha X
I am running etap so shift cable routing isn’t a bigg deal. Brake routing I am running a TriRig Omega X up front so would like sokmething that works well with the centerpull. Rear brake would be ideal if cable could be routed out of the top of the stem for the Specialized routing. Pricing looks like it would be pretty similar once you add in the tilt kit for the TriRig. Any thoughts on pros and cons to each? Any one of these work better or worse for aesthetics, aero, and setup with a Shiv? Would love to hear from others with Shivs running any of these bars.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
I posted this in another thread, but it’s relevant to exactly what you’re asking so here it is again

You’ve said that all the bars can hit your new position, but you also need to consider which will allow you to keep improving your setup. Unfortunately the Enve is fast (I’ve tested it) but a bit crippled on the adjustment front.
This is the bike of a Profile Design sponsored athlete, whose store aren’t very creative with Di2 routing.

Note: I work with Profile Design and consulted on the Aeria Ultimate.
So based on this chart and your feedback clearly the Profile is the most adjustable. However the reach isn’t as much of a concern as with the Enve it would be dependent on stem as well since it doesn’t seem the stem is available from Enve anymore…
My biggest draw to the TriRig is the cable.
routing for the rear brake being able to be routed through the top of the stem as well as the etap cables running the same way being attractive because of how I have the bliip bnox mounted. Seems this option would clean the cable routing up the best. On this front I think the Enve and Profile would be pretting similar and not quite as good.
If the Enve really is that fast I’m sure I could come up with a creative way to run the cables to minimize “mess”. But not sure what combo with stem would be best to keep it fast since I imagine a standard stem would take away from how fast the Enve could be.
I am really curious to see some other Shivs with similar set up to see how they look.
That pic didn’t show up, will try again
You can see the brake cable popping out at the top of the stem to drop into the frame.
The cable routing is easier to access on the tririg, but the end result is much the same.
I’d actually expect the Enve stem to be slower than a standard stem - it adds a lot of frontal area. It was just a solution for the Dimension Data team to be able to get low enough without using undermount.
Enve with normal stem and Aeria ultimate basically the same aerodynamics with rider on (pretty much all the available bar data is with no rider so it’s worthless - interaction with arms makes a huge difference). AU faster at low yaw, Enve better at very high yaw. So there is a slight edge for AU in race conditions, but it’s small enough that any number of things could impact the result.
I’d say that your choice comes down to AU vs TR, the Enve lacks adjustment and the armrests are flimsy plastic.
