Anyone have the scoop on 3T’s new aerobar? Kinda looks like the HED Vantage Eight or the new HED aerobar that has been seen at Interbike.
BREZZA is a highly evolved aerobar for use with conventional stems. It shares much of the design DNA of the stage-winning VENTUS, such as the slender carbon-fiber unibody and minimalist brake levers – but not its integrated aero stem. BREZZA is aimed at a wide range of TT and triathlon specialists who prefer to mount the bar on their own choice of stem. It’s an ideal match for 3T stems, including the -17 degree ARX TEAM for a really low, attacking position. The BREZZA is fully adjustable, coming as standard with S-bend extensions that can be swapped out for straight or ski-bend extensions (available as 3T Accessories) to fine-tune your position on the bike.
I know I’ve already said it, but they look a lot like the HED’s. Seems like the main difference from the Ventus is greater adjustability since you drop the built in stem.
Will we be seeing these on a future Preferred Build?
I talked to the 3T reps at interbike. The 3T website has the weight wrong. The website says that the LTD version is 840 grams and that the team version is 920 grams. The rep told me that the actual weights were 530-540 for the LTD and around 640 grams for the Team version. The bar had a great feel to it and had plenty of room for adjustments.
As a side note, Hed will have 3 versions of the Vantage 8 this year. They will have the original Vantage 8 that was out last year and they will also have two other bars that are very similar to the Vantage 8 except they come with break levers already installed. One has a flat base bar and the other has a base bar that is angled down. All three of these bar were very nice as well and I think were in the 600 to 700 gram range.
i don’t know. pretty soon i think. but here’s the thing, i don’t like it with its regular armrests, i like it with the ventus armrests. and i like it with blackwell’s extensions. if you get this bar, order it with the ventus armrests. this is possible, i checked. i’m trying to round up a lot of blackwell extensions, as add-ons to other peoples’ bars. it’s an excellent extension for this bar.
any idea when these will be available and if there are any pictures of the new vantage 8 with the flat base? I have only seen images of the angled down bar.
i don’t know if the U.S. distributors have it yet. i have two brezza bars, but i have them built with ventus armrests. this is the bomb set up. whomever is importing this bar ought to import it this way, imho.
As it is already january I was wondering if there is more information on the brezza … Anyone?
A few places seem to have it… in the UK and a store in Alberta at least… google it.
I am not sure why HED suddenly decided to raise prices by nearly 1/3rd on their aerobar setups, hopefully they don’t do the same with their wheel prices.
The Black Dog setup does look great, but a Bontrager Race X Lite/Hed Flip Lite clipon system looks practically identical.
The Brezza looks interesting, but if I was putting down that much $ I would want as much adjustability as possible. At least the Black Dog will let you adjust in all directions.
the brezza armrest is smaller. i hate small armrests. there is no reason for them. the ventus armrest is plush. if you’re going to warrant a $900 aerobar, you’re probably a serious rider, which means on average you’re riding forward and low and have a lot of upper body weight resting on those aerobars. no sense in building down the armrest. that’s the single most important part of an aerobar, and comfort is king, since you’re going to stay in that position for hours at a time.
You could buy the Easton Delta Force basebar, HED Flip-lite with Lazy S-Bend and Bontrager levers and have an aerobar set up that is aero and light for half the money if you shop right.
