Never had this happen before

Just got back on the bike today for a short ride. Came up on this old guy on a folding bike with what looked like 20" wheels–I’m doing about 19-20mph. I thought I’d pass him and never see him again—about six miles later he pulls up next to me and says thanks for the pull–we get to talking, he’s about 70yrs old and this is his first ride of the season, also tells me he just got the bike outta storage and hasn’t put his road tires on it yet. I hope I’m in that kinda shape when and if I make it to that age. Very cool.

Sounds like he was riding a “Bike Friday.”

I’ve had things like this happen when out skiing - some old (85 or so, in a few guys I’ve come to know) Norwegian or Swede come up behind and glides past, perfect classic technique, and it’s almost always the case that they’ve been skiing since the age of 5 or so.

huh, I was sure this was going to be a my first gay experience thread. Nothing personal just based on the title not the person.

No worries–a title like that could be subject matter for a whole slew of topics.

I had a migrant worker pass me before. never to be seen again.

The new word for gay is GREEK.

PS: Is there a punctuation error in your quote?

It’s too bad you didn’t take a picture. I would have liked to see what the Mr. Miyagi of folding bikes looks like.

Do you live in S. Florida?

Their is a guy here that rides a folding bike all the time. I’ve ridden with him a few times. Once he told me he was visiting his mother. Once he told me he had his real bike stolen. Once he told me he was on a business trip.

And once he told me the truth, I think. He’s a retired pro from a million years ago and loves screwing the heads of other riders.
