Can anyone provide any further information regarding NeilPryde’s introduction of the Alize & Diablo?
I can’t provide further info on these bikes but I do have two immediate comments.
- I love it when I see a brand I’ve never heard of before. At the international races (ITU especially) there are always a few and that’s a joy.
- Back in the mid to late 80s I was insane for windsurfing. I lived in Hood River, OR for several summers and had a 4.0m Neil Pride sail that provided me with some deeply joyous days.

Wait, I got another comment… I didn’t dawn on me 'til now how similar, nay, identical the Neil Pryde logo is with the new Target logo. That’s too bad.
Ian
Not sure what went through the minds of the bosses at Neil Pryde to walk down that plank. Sounds like a bad idea to me for sure.
naw,
that’s copyright infringe from Bianchi’s mtn bikes for sure…
may blessings be bestowed upon us all,
that is all…
I have been test riding both the Diablo and the Alize for a few weeks now and I am very impressed.

Hey Ian…before tri i was crazy for windsurfing too Useed to spend summer vacations at the Gorge as well…one of the most beautiful places on the planet if you ask me. Remember spots like Rowena and the Hatchery? I had some Neil Pryde sails as well and was a bit surprized why they would jump in this crowded market.
Any idea how wide is the top tube? Thanks.
Any idea how wide is the top tube? Thanks.
Really wide, 5cm at the headtube down to 3.5cm at the seatpost on the Alize and 5.5cm down to 3.5cm on the Diablo.
G’day Clive,
I was wondering if you know if the bike is available Durace Di2, it doesn’t look like a spec option from the Pryde website?
Peace
Peter
It’s not sold as a DI2 routed frame but can be built with Di2 - check my blog for a posting about building standard frames with Di2.
If you wanted to build a custom NP with Di2 I can do it for you. - PM me.
Thanks for the info, just looking at different options right now.
Peace
Peter
There are a few out here in ASIA… beware of people saying over the top good things about them as they just handed out 20 or so to “brand ambassadors” who are contracted to spread the word… These are guys (I know one of them) who previously owned fantastic bikes and are now showing up with one of these… Frames are all made in China (as are most carbon frames) and the brand seems to be more about flash than any real technology…
any ride reviews of the alize? has anyone tried using the 78 degree TT seatpost?
Just took delivery of an Alize last weekend from Neil Pryde here in Hong Kong.
Black Matte, size small, Selle Italia SL, NP stem and bar, Look Easy pedals, Ultegra Di2, and Zipp 404 FC clinchers.
7.76kg
Post retul fitting, took it for a favorite spin up some moderate hills to Shek-O and up to the Peak.
Definitely more comfortable than the Cannondale SuperSix I used to ride. While it did not feel as if it accelerated with the same immediacy as the SuperSix, I felt much more comfortable on the ascents, confident on descents, and not as fatigued post 3 hours on the bike. Did these with my normal training wheels and tyres - Ksyrium SLs w/ Conti 4000s.
Uploaded data onto strava and lo an behold - 14 PRs.
Blast to ride, instills confidence and lays on comfort. Might all be in my head, but ‘feels’ more aero on flats and downhills when you tuck into the drops.
love it.
If you are looking for a responsive frame, look no further than they bura! I work in a shop that sells a lot of neilpryde bikes and I have to say that they are better than I expected. The bura sl with the new dura ace 9000 came in a couple of weeks ago. The shop owners and myself can’t get enough of it. When you get on and pedal it just goes.
I am lucky enough to get one of the first bayamo bikes in my part of the country and can’t wait to see how it responds. Look for a post/pic on my awesome build (and it will be awesome) I plan to start a neilpryde thread soon to work through any issues/show off our up and coming brand of bikes.
Great to see some others out there repping the brand!
talk about digging up a thread! well played, sir.
I agree…I haven’t ridden one, but think they are great looking bikes!!! Everyone I know that has ridden one loves them.
