Need swimming workouts? Here are 50 of them

I found a link to 50 swim workouts that I think could benefit a lot of people on this forum.

http://www.personal.psu.edu/faculty/e/x/exk7/PreviousSwimWorkouts.html

There is a 3000-3500 yard or meter version and a 2000-2500 version of each workout.
They can be made more difficult or easier if you need. many of them don’t specify sendoff times, but that makes them work for different ability levels. just come up with your own times and make yourself work hard.
i was on a plateau (maybe it was actually a gradual decline) with regard to swimming. i was getting lazy and rationalizing that, since i was still coming out of the water at races in the top 5 or so, i could get away with only doing 2000 yards or so, 3 times a week. but my times were suffering. i used to be able to hold 100s (SCY) on 1:15, then 1:20, then not even that. now i’m getting my times back down and it has been a huge help to have at least a basic workout structure to build my own workouts on.
for those who aren’t up to this level yet, the page also has a link to a program to go from nothing to swimming a mile.

cool site, thanks!

Credit for those wonderful workouts go to Ruth Kazez, super-cool resident of rec.sport.triathlon, Ironman, keeper of fish and ponds, artist, and generally a great person.
