Louis Garneau makes a rather nice one. I have worn it all year (both one piece and 2 piece). http://www.louisgarneau.com/ca-en/product/305593/2858227/Suits/MEN_ELITE_LAZER_TEK_SUIT_2
They sell one above this as well.
DeSoto w/float pad is the best I have ever used, molded pad, good balance between padding and shape so that you don’t notice it on the run. In the aero position, probably as or more comfortable than most bike shorts. 2XU also has some molded pads that are pretty good, but not as nice as DeSoto.

Totally agree here, Its what I’ve been using for 3-4 years now.
This is the newer front zip

Rear zip (this is what I have been using.)

Just put more training time in on the bike with Tri shorts…your “parts” will get used to it!
Agree on the Desoto float pad. Great suit.
Or you parts could be happier all the time

+1 on Desoto. My 2xu 1 piece ld suit gives me horrible chaffing on the 2 bricks over 2 hours I’ve done. For my next half, I’m going back to my Desoto Lift foil 1 piece that I’ve used for sprints. I don’t really use pockets anyway . I’ll probably get a Desoto 2 piece next year.
I bought a women’s pair of tri shorts at a race last year because my previous shorts had become somewhat see-through and it was all the tent had in my size. My first time riding with them was after T1, and it was like riding on a cloud. I had previously been using some other brand’s (Sugoi, I think) mens tri shorts.
They’re Louis Garneau, but unfortunately I can’t find out what specific “model” of shorts they are, and don’t recognize them on LG’s site.
I have had good luck with TYR brand 2 piece
.
+XXXXX on he Desoto float pad. Three options for suits between the itu suit, speed suit, and new riviera tri suit.
The pad is comfortable on the bike and disappears on the run. Best of both worlds.
I use the De Soto Liftfoil trisuit with the float pad. The pad is extremely comfortable even for mountain biking (xterra).
Before I bought this suit, I bought a 2XU trisuit but had to return it because it was see-through in all the wrong places. Despite being a black suit, the material was too thin. Their customer service indicated it was a recurring problem, so I opted for a return rather than an exchange. I couldn’t be happier with the De Soto I got instead.
I have had good luck with TYR brand 2 piece
+1 on TYR. Just be aware that the sizing – at least on the tops – runs small. Really nice chamois and one would assume TYR makes the bottom swim-proof. I’ve been happy with mine.
I really like the skins tri shorts, the pad while thinner, is really comfortable, 2xu is also good

I race in the Desoto Forza ITU suit. The float pad is very comfortable, and not noticeable in the run. There is also a reason why it’s called the float pad. I also ended up picking up a Desoto Riveria Tribib since I liked the float pad so much. I used that in a 36 mile Team Time Trial race yesterday without issue.
Also, the customer service with Desoto is outstanding.
I have a Desoto Lift foil which has the ITU pad its amazing
.
How does the materail on the liftfoil suit compare to that on for example a 2XU Compression long distance 1 piece suit. Both seem to have that semi transparent material. The Desoto seem to have that more slippery hydrophobic coating. I coudl swear that the 2XU is a little cooler and I like it’s longer 9 or 10" legs that go almost to the knee.
Any chance of Desoto offering a version with longer legs? Maybe in the 2 piece?
Is 2 piece just a preference, or is there an advantage to one vs. the other? I’ve typically used a 1 piece.
Hi Emilio,
I love your gear. I ride in 400 mile bibs almost exclusively, and I usually race (iron distance) in Forza tri suit. I think I would be a little more comfortable with more padding.
Does the Riviera float pad offer that? Or, for even more padding, do I go with a tri bib and a tri top?
Thanks!
Hi Chris,
I just sent you a PM, but just in case:
Hello Chris,
Thanks for writing. Though I want to sell you more product, if you own the Forza Trisuit already I can save you money by recommending you get one of our seat pads.

Now, if you want to move into something with more padding, then yes, either the Riviera Trisuit or the Riviera Tribib will be best. Both are amazing pieces. Your preference will depend on if you want a one or a two-piece option. The two piece option allows you to wear the Tribib for training too but with other bike jerseys. As for sleeved or sleeveless in the Riviera Top, sleeved will protect you more from sun in long races, but that is just a matter of personal preference.
Just let me know if I can answer any other questions for you.
