long story short, which one you would buy: Canyon Speedmax CFR with SRAM Red AXS or S-works Shiv tri (the same groupset). I would greatly appreciate yours opinions.
I can get Shiv immediately, Canyon…who knows, but I guess not before November. I will race Nice 70.3 (Sept 12) on my Venge with aerobars, so, to be honest I don’t need a TT bike before April next year, since my next race is in May.
I am FOP, lately finishing top 5 in my AG (45-49)
So what you would buy and why? I rode Speedmax for 3 amazing years and my first choice is probably Canyon but they’re a little bit to confused
Did they ever fix the latching issue on the shiv for the fluid module on the back? I remember when they first released it a lot of athletes were having to tape it shut because it didn’t work right. Personally I’d go with the Canyon because the Shiv is ugly AF in my opinion and I doubt the aero difference is much between the two bikes.
Yes; the main thing with the Shiv is how it looks. That sail at the back is something I can’t get over. Unfortunately I can’t find any direct comparison between two regarding aero data
I hate to be that guy, but if lead times are that long, why those bikes? Either a cervelo p5 disc or p3x will be faster than those
I just like the look of new Speedmax, and integration which provides (hydro, tools…).
Cervelo p5 disc was my third choice actually, but I didn’t want to bother people with too many options
How do you know that P5 is faster? I would like to see the data really. That would probably help me a lot
I look at the cockpit on the Shiv and just roll my eyes. WTF were they thinking? The first thing you probably need to do with a $14,000 bike is throw the cockpit in the garbage and re-engineer something that is actually going to be fast. That’s nuts.
No data I have, but others who do lots of tunnel testing have said they’ve had the OG speedmax in the tunnel, and based off the manufacturer provided delta to the new speedmax (which is probably overstated) and actual data from the new cervelos, the cervelo is still the better bike. Also, desertdude is riding a p3x this year, and I doubt there are more than a couple people in the world with more info on different bikes in the tunnel than he has.
