I’m going to do a “12 days of Christmas for the 7 year old”, boy.
Nothing big or expensive just something like the song, except backwards. So on the first day he would get 12 things, next day 12 and 11 etc.
I did it this way because I figured I could get something like a big box of legos, 200 pieces, and give him 12 pieces a day.
So far I have a few of them covered but I thought the collective could come up with some good ideas as well.
So far
12 x 12 = 144 (Lego pieces)
11 x 11 = 121
10 x 10 = 100 (Army guys)
9 x 9 = 81
8 x 8 = 64 (Chinese Checkers, only 60 marbles, but close enough)
7 x 7 = 49
6 x 6 = 36
5 x 5 = 25
4 x 4 = 16
3 x 3 = 9
2 x 2 = 4
1 = 1
A Rubik’s Cube has 64 squares but I don’t think you can break that up into pieces.
There is a game that has flip up/down characters and you ask questions to eliminate possibilities until you guess the identity. I don’t know how many pieces.
Checkers could be divided into days as could a chess set and backgammon
You could break up a puzzle into days
The single gift could be a Transformer or an inexpensive remote control car
I like that one. Could actually spread doing the puzzle out over some days then.
I was also thinking of some sort of trading cards.
Money of some sort could be a good filler if I can’t come up with something. I was even thinking of getting some sort of gift cards, but I’m not sure they’d be happy about giving me 5 1$ gift cards or something like that
