So heres the deal, Im living in China where they dont have my size in running shoes so
A: I need to order them
B: I cant try them on before hand
I want to get the asics DS trainer 16, in the past though the DS trainers seemed to run a bit small so for me, I wear a size 12, but with the DS I needed a 12.5.
Are the 16s like this? or are they more true to size?
I know somebody out there has DS trainer 16s,

In the DS Trainer 13’s (the lime green ones) I was a size 10, in the 16s, I’m a 9.5. I tried on the 14s and 15s but they didn’t seem to fit right. The 16s have been great, one of the best shoes I’ve ever run in.
if it helps i wear suacony (kinvara, mirage) at 10 but ds trainers and kswiss at 9.5

I have the ds trainer 16s and what i think are 15’s (lime green), both in size 12s. before i wore asics cumulus in size 12. The ds trainers seem to fit about the same, the 16’s feel a little tighter in the uppers, maybe because they are newer, but my toes go to about the same spot, and i think if i sized up they would be too big. hope this helps.
Ironwolf - I am with you. I had DS Trainers 13 and they ran small. I just bought the DS Trainers 16 in size 13 when my 2160’s are 12.5. My Wave Elixirs are also 12.5, so are my Newtons.
They run small. Size up 1/2 size.
Use the shoefitter function
I used to run in the DS16s and when I switched to Mizuno I realized that the Asics ran small. I bought a 10 in Asics and probably could run in a litlle bigger like a 10.5.

Buy whatever sizes you want and send back what doesn’t. You can run in them for 30 days with no obligation. I usually do this when trying new shoes.
Wolf - My history seems EXACTLY like yours…I wear 12 1/2 in the 16s too. I wear 12 in most other shoes. Let me know if you have questions since I am a long time DS trainer wearer and am apparently the same size as you.
Ever consisdered emailing Asics customer service? I like to get info from the horses mouth. Just a thought…

Fwiw, my Ds trainers 14’s are the same size as my Ds trainer 16s which are the same size as my 2150’s. I checked through all of my shoes of these 3 models (8pair laying around) all the same size.
Have you tried the “Shoefitr” function on the runningwarehouse site?
asics ds trainer runs the same way between the cumulus, 2160, speedstar 5, and the ds trainer 14.
After running in the DS 13, 14, an d15s I ended up having width problems with the DS 16s and could never find a size that worked. However, while trying to figure this out I purchased, ran in, and then returned 3 different pairs of the DS 16s from www.roadrunnersports.com with NO PROBLEMS and NO COST to myself.
So, I would just order the pairs that you are split between and return what doesn’t work!
I had the 14’s in size 11. I wear size 11 also in the 16s. The 16’s feel more “bulky” overall–as if they are padded around the upper more. It feels more like a thicker foot entrance padded area. The tongue sure seems a little on the thick side. I do prefer eyelets for the laces instead of fabric loops–as I’ve had Nike’s before where the loops broke frequently. Hopefully this won’t be the same for these (I only have about 50 miles on the 16’s). But size wize, they both feel the same. Haven’t noticed any width issues as of yet.
