Currently swim at Xavier Univerisity. They just announced that pool will be closed for the summer due to renovation. They have made arrangements for members to use a YMCA pool but that pool is only 20 yards.
Anyone here from Cincinnati that has a pool that they can recommend?
Going thru the same headache right NOW. The blue ash YMCA has a 50 meter outdoor pool and indoor 25 pool… That’s what I am looking at now. And if you join the Y, you can go to anderson Y as well. But they won’t let you get the xavier discount. The sports mall is what makes more sense, but it’s too expensive… mariemont has an outdoor pool in the summer, 7$ to get in… You can swim with the Marlins masters, 45$ for 10 visits punch cards. Gold’s has a 20 yard pool with no lanes. Trihealth is pricey and far. let me know if you find more valuable info, i am leaning towards the blue ash YMCA, also could use it while in Montreal…
well, the Y in blue ash has an outdoor that does long course every friday morning. nice! plus they do have an indoor pool that is appropriate–it’s in the other building.
but i go to tri health. big windows, and it’s 25 meters, very clean, with only slight aggitation of water classes–but these are on a schedule, and that is the only time they’re in the pool. it is not during early morning, or lunch time either. if you can fork over the enrollment fee and afford about 70 bucks a month it’s quite nice. then you can quit at any time, or have your membership delayed for next year.
mariemont also has a pool at the high school or something, but it has special hours and days. that’s not my style (with special hours, etc) so I never went to look at it, but have talked with people who go there and like it.
Not from Cinci, but Akron, I would check out St X HS’s pool, Keating Natatorium, Im sure they have some open time there, Long course too! best of luck
I go to Mercy Healthplex in Anderson. It’s a 25 m pool, but not crowded.
