Need A New Jersey, Help Me Decide

Im in the market for a new jersey, and want something nice. I don’t want the typical Rapha or Castelli that every other person rides in.

By no means am I a skinny cyclist, so fit is important. 5’10" 185lbs. I also run HOT - short sleeve shirt and shorts when winter running in 35*F.

Materials are the reasons I am considering some of these niche brands over the more main stream options out there.

Brands I am looking at are:
Velocio
Search and State
Ashmei
Poc
7Mesh
I Love The Pain

Who has experience with these and what can you tell me?

I looked at a bunch of those brands and ended up buying a jersey from Stolen Goat. I love it. I also got a Roka warm weather jersey which is awesome, but the sizing is whack. I’m 5’ 10" and 170# and wear a medium in pretty much everything, but the Roka medium wouldn’t have fit if I were 150#. I exchanged it for a large and it’s all good.

I have tried on Search and State (too thick/hot) Velocio Ultra Light (im an XL) and Ashmei (also XL)

Love the real world experiences, keep them coming!

I thought this thread was about New Jersey- I was going to try and talk you out of moving there

A couple picks for you from some favorite brands right here out of Virginia:

Ridge Supply- look at their Summer Jersey- they seem to change colorways on these frequently. Great socks as well:

Cutaway- great fit and quality, reasonable prices:

Let’s add Ornot to the list too

Must be able to be worn against the skin, no baselayer.

Anyone have experience with LoveThePain?

A few more options for you to consider:

MAAP
Q36.5
CHPT 3
Black Sheep
Pas Normal Studios

I have a camo jersey - very nice and good price
.

Probably not typically found in the NE are Eliel and De Soto - both provide great quality and offer a different look.

I just bought a sweet new jersey in Spain, made there by a company called Gobik. Very light and airy. Check them out – http://store.gobik.com/coleccion.html

Edited to add, I’m a female about 5’3", and got the “Maillot CX Pro Unisex Orange Desert” in a size S. It fits plenty snug… race fit.

Look at Roka jerseys. I love mine. Comfortable, sizes for tall people, and great quality.

i’m going to put one down for velocio.

i actually rode with the founder today (had no idea till halfway into the ride), strong rider, nice guy.

a bunch of my friends wear velocio and really comment on the quality of it. the only reason i don’t have any is because i have sooooo many jerseys and bibs. but i’m 100% buying velocio for my next bib/kit

i’m going to put one down for velocio.

Interesting!! I read it was started by a former female pro rider?

Narrowed it down to Velocio Ultralight or Cafe Du Cycliste Micheline

Anyone have firsthand experience with either of these?

The Cafe Du Cycliste Micheline won out. It’s a bit lighter, more airy, and the pockets are more useful on longer rides.

Both thus and the Velocio are impeccable build quality!
