Nature is a Motha'

Due to my daughters sadistically and intentionally screwing up my weekends by insisting on being involved in various activities instead of just quietly watching TV, I have not yet been able to get in a long weekend ride this year. The scheduling gods relented this weekend. No track meets, no swimming, the horse farm is having a show so no riding lessons, the guitar teacher is taking the week off . . . . I am free!

But now Mother Nature has intervened. After weeks of dry days and record highs, the weather forecast for tomorrow is for a high of 39, rain mixed with snow and 25 mph winds.

I can do cold. I can do rain. I can do wind. I’m not sure I can do all 3 at the same time.

Hang in there. Before you know it your daughters will be off to college in another part of the country and deciding to work summers in that area. You’ll only see them a couple of times a year.

Enjoy it now because it doesn’t last forever. This I know from experience.

Gotta agree about the weather though. It’s gonna suck this weekend. I’m sure our Sunday long ride will be cancelled.

That has been the story of my spring, man.
Nice day = stuck in a building working.

Out of building time = nasty weather, or nice weather chaning to nasty weather half way through a ride.
