Also interesting that none of the Colavita guys were riding B2’s
.
Looks more like a Seamus to myself.
Nah. Seamus would be an old steel frame that squeaks and twitches, drifts from one side of the road to the other, is seriously out of alignment, and has more than a couple dings in the old headtube.
Actually, it looks like the current Arione in a custom color.
The new tri-Arione is more curvy and more padded in the nose.
seamus is actually an ex coworker who went on a binge, disappeared for 2 days, called a co worker for sex often during that time and was found by the police in the stairwell of the hotel we were all at for work.
keep it patrick.
Trek aluminum. Some triathletes rode those, along with the not-Lance USPS team members. Not made for retail sale.
Tom,
do you know if the Troxel helmet is still available anywhere? I know they stopped producing it years ago, but I always regretted not getting one.
Horner’s bike was pretty cool. Got to see it up close, but I didn’t get any pictures. Several of his teammates rode the same frame. Interesting paint scheme. Dominguez rode a rebadged P3. I did get a picture of that bike. He let me snap a quick photo as he was getting in his team car, and his bike was propped up against the car. When I saw it, I started laughing. “That ain’t no Felt,” I said to him. Then I pointed at his bike and said, “Cervelo.” It was red, and had some kind of cellophane-ish tape wrapped around the downtube. But up close, you could still read “Cervelo” through the tape. On the top tube, right next to his name, he had “Felt” stenciled in small white letters. “That’s a special Felt,” he said, smiling. I just laughed and snapped a photo of it when they put it on the roof rack of his car. So I have this picture of a red P3 sandwiched between two black Felt time trial bikes on the team car. Maybe I can get the picture to Hid or someone in a day or two and he can get it posted for me.
I have some other thoughts/observations about the time trial that I’ll post when I can get everything organized. I was amazed at the number of riders that rode their road bikes with shorty aerobars. Also, a couple of riders didn’t have aerobars at all; they just rode their regular road bikes without special equipment. I know not everyone takes the time trials seriously, but I thought they would take it more seriously than that. But the serious time trialists had some good stuff on their bikes. It was pretty cool.
