My first retrofit tt bike was much the same and I LOVE the Aerospokes. They were crazy fast and bomber tough too. Your seatpost almost looks lime my Franken too…American Classic with a cut and weld? I miss my old Cdale 2.0…she will be missed.
The post is something heavy duty steel post I picked up in the Mtn Bike section, don’t recall the brand. Brought it to a local metal works outfit and they used some kind of vice while heating it up to bend it. Works great.

You can actually shift with your knee, if the bike and your leg length matches : ) Downtube shifters are definately old school. But, they work really well.
Yeah, the guy at the bikeshop did me a favor by putting in some index shifting. Before it was like playing a trombone trying to find out what gear I was going to end up in. Now I get that satisfying click when I change gears. I’m in heaven.
I had a Nishiki. It even came with the old Shimano bio-pace rings. Seems like a long time ago.

They make little bits that go over the shifter bosses and turn them into cable stops, so you can run bar-end shifters.
Any shop should have like 42 of the little buggers lying around.

I like and have a similar setup. Putting the shifters on the aerobars is easy. the rear will also bend out the xtra 4mm easily for putting more speeds and modern wheels in. I sprung for an older profile fast forward post.
