Hi everyone. I’ve had myofasciitis for a little over a year now. It was exercise induced, long swim followed by heavy weight training. It was diffuse all over my upper back/shoulders & the chiropractor who I’ve been going to has gotten rid of almost all of it except for my upper left trapezius. Where the trap meets the neck area to be exact. He’s used electrical stimulation, adjustments(which I don’t really care much for), & graston scraping. On my own time I hold a moderate weight in my left hand by my hip & stretch my neck using the right hand.
I’ve had this myofasciitis once before in the past which he’s successfully treated, however this time this one sticking point just refuses to go away. I’ve gotten very frustrated, no swimming or weight training for over a year now. It might be due to the fact that his reduced COVID office hours only allow me to schedule once a week treatment or it might be some other unknown factors, I don’t know.
Now Mr.Google regurgitates “myofascial release” & “trigger points” all over the interwebs which is all fine & good, but I’d like the collective experience/advise of you guys. I want to start physical therapy, twice week or more, does anyone have a recommended PT office in the Brooklyn area? Are there any specific therapeutic strategies I should know about? Please help. Thanks.
