Only one. The water bottle…
Shoot the bike from the front and post it if you can.
very nice ride
.
No Campy…I wouldn’t ride it…
.
Clarence - as you become more flexible - it would be great to lose some of those spacers
.
I was thinking about that…I think I’m quite flexible…I’ve been riding for about 5 years…always seem to have some neck pain after 40+ miles…I didn’t realize the shop was putting that many spacers in…wonder if that means I should’ve had a 58 instead of 56 frame…?
I wonder how that bottle will impact your reach and forearm/wrist comfort without any risers and the shallow s. The bike looks ill and those RC’s are a nice touch. I could barely see that zip cage. Sweet. Enjoy your maiden flight, just don’t christen it with a bottle of Dom.
Ah, anymore thoughts?
I can’t seem to see the pictures. Very sad. Glad the boys at MissionBay took care of you!!

That’s weird you can’t see the photos…here’s the main one again…
THe pics aren’t loading or taking a long time use this.
Don’t mean to rain on your parade but with that setup you should not be on that bike.
Too many spaces and an upturned stem. The P3 should be ridden forward and low. It’s not an cruiser it’s a TT bike.
So what if you get a sore neck. Stick with it and your body will adapt. It only takes about 3 to 4 weeks to adapt to a low position if you have reasonable core strength. Don’t do it in small doses either. Get your drop to the point that your head is out of the wind flow. Once you have adapted their is no difference in comfort between a drop of 8cm or 16cm. Most age groupers never achieve a good position on the bike because they try something for 1 or 2 rides get sore and change back to what is comfortable.
Thanks for your feedback. The sore neck has been for 3 years (for rides 40+ miles)…but I am wondering about the spacers…maybe the 58 would’ve been a better choice…
Thanks for the link…
How would going up a size impact the # of spacers that you are using? If you feel you are not too tight (opposed to being stretched out) then a 58 would probably make the problem worse. Your setup accomodates flexibility issues. Hard to tell without seeing you on the bike (not that I’m saying you should do that now). When I 1st got my bike it came with a large # of spacers but I gradually worked my postion lower as I got comfortable and removed all but 1 and cut the nip off the fork. Something that helped with my flex issues (PILATES).
Well you may be on the wrong size, hard to know. How many spacers you need is not always a good indicator of that. If you are going to ride a frame like this it makes sense to try and ride it in the optimal position. That drop looks pretty small.
Comfort is a relative thing. Your neck should get somewhat sore on long rides on a TT bike.
If you are concerned post some pics of you on the bike.
Ah, I understand (I think). Thank you. I was on a Aluminum P3 that was fine for rides under 40 miles but neck became sore over 40 miles. I’d get a higher angle stem for longer races and it helped. So, maybe I’ll take your advice and take 1 spacer out each month…?
Well, I am concerned after spending big dough… I’ll have someone take pics of me on the bike this weekend and also ride 56 on Sat & 56 on Sunday…see how it feels too!
Thanks for your input.
My .02…I’d leave the spacers for now, but flip the stem and put a spacer under the elbow pads to resolve forearm issues w/ the water bottle and get the forearms more level. This would still put you considerably lower position in the front and you have the stem spacers to gradually come down more as you adapt.
