Average, Better than Average?
It means that my VO2 of 65 should make you think about taking up ping pong instead of endurance sports.
I’m wondering the same thing. Supposedly, mine’s 73. I’m not wondering if this is average or better than average, but how fast does that mean I should be able to run & bike. Any help from someone that knows something about this would be appreciated!
means you wasted money on the test if the person testing did not explain what this was, set up HR training zones/guides from it, etc.
Just a number (and usually falsley elevated at that - my last one was 79 so I should be biking like Macca)
Landis’s was 91 i believe.
Did a random search on google and you should play football.

I’m about 14 inches when fully aroused. Is that average, or above average?

I just got out of the test - the doc and trainer are entering the data, plotting graphs/charts and will deliver HR zones and LTHR information later today.
Relax…
This is one of many charts (I saw the same) that say everything from you should be playing Football to you should be a Runner/Cyclist, etc. The charts on the web are all over the place.

No, that’s just dreaming…
Only 14?
Dave
I’m sitting here with the doctor and trainer who just measured it, but I thought it would be a better idea to ask Slowtwitch.
;^P

LOL - sorry, didn’t figure one would JUST finish the test then post immediately to slowtwitch while waiting for the results/recommendations that one paid for.
I though I was a slowtwitch junkie - damn!
That’s quite good. Simply put, it means you have a big hole in your face and a big nough carbeurator that you can turn over a lot of air and make a lot of exhaust quickly. Provided your engine is good, your induction exhaust system will support it at that number.
Basically, You can process a volume of 61.8 millileters of oxygen per each kilogram of youor body weight every minute you exercise.
To visualize this multiply your weight in kilograms (pounds divided by 2.2) by 61.8. Let’s say you weigh 75 Kilos like me (165 pounds). That would be 4635 millileters of oxygen processed every minute. That’s 4.6 liters! That’s moving a lot of air in and out!
And to further astound you with yourself consider this, at 180 B.P.M. heart rate your heart is fully contracting 3 times *per second *or about the same rate of fire as a machine gun. The blood is moving through major arteries at nearly freeway speed at that heart rate. Imagine that…
Well, since you posted it here on slowtwitch, I’m sure half will respond that they are bigger, and the rest will say that the method of testing was inaccurate…and one will say that your c0<k is too high.
"means you wasted money on the test if the person testing did not explain what this was, set up HR training zones/guides from it, etc. "
Just like the other person said, you wasted your time if they didn’t tell what to do with it!
What it means is you’re no better then a dog. Man’s best friend has a higher VO2 max then you or any other human. The average dog has 4 X the VO2 max of a human. Now that should put you in your place.
a VO2 max of 61.8 and $2.50 will get you a cup of coffe at Starbucks.
**The blood is moving through major arteries at nearly freeway speed at that heart rate. Imagine that… **
50 mph converts to ?? ft/sec. I’m sure your blood is moving quickly through your arteries, but not THAT quick.
55 mph = 80.66 ft/second
