My first Tribe sighting

Well, at the end of my ride to work today, I spotted my first Tribe apparel (on someone other then me). He was running down Palamar Airport Road in Carlsbad the opposite way I was riding, just briefly saw them as they flew by.

I think I hate him cause he obviously runs faster then me. But I can’t hate him cause he’s in the Tribe. Damn conundrums.

Run on Tribe’s men…run on!

excellent!!!

I’ll be wearing mine at HalfMax this weekend.

I had my first Tribe sighting this past weekend – I met Relax2dmax briefly before the Saddleback Memorial 1/2 Marathon in Laguna Hills. He was wearing the shirt, and I flashed him my hat. Nice to meet fellow STers that way!

Keep on the lookout.

Now we need to find out who that was.

Right back atcha, Direwolf. Thanks for flashing the universal sign of peace and triathlon brotherhood.

Here’s another one.

Oh, that’s me!

I just wonder why that woman had to pass me right at the end after I passed her about 100 yards from the finish. Spoiled my “finisher” picture.

Don’t pay any nevermind to the time:)

Also note the studly Virtruvian footware!

Hey, that was me!!!

I knew that I put that shirt on today for a reason. You must have caught me going down the hill. I was going a bit slower on the return trip.

Good for you for riding to work. Today I was lazy after my run and took the motorcycle.

You were doing the apparel proud! But I still hate you cause you look better running then I do ;o) This morning was perfect for running, and biking!!

I’ll be sportin the Tribe apparel at San Diego International at the end of June, try to do the Tribe proud too…eventhough they might not want to associate with me after I hammer the swim, pound the bike, and survive the run!!!

Got my LC singlet and LS t-shirt last Friday (dang those are some crazy Ca-nay-dee-an postal regs). Had to try out the LCS on my Sunday long run out on the Bay Trail (Albany and Richmond, CA). Got lots of smiles (don’t know why, maybe the Cervelo logo?). Fits perfectly and feels super; I ran so fast I tweaked my right knee again. Gotta watch that.

I’ll be proudly sporting the colors up at Coeur D’Alene so when you pass me, introduce yourselves. If I can get my wife to take a G rated pic of me, I’ll try to post it, otherwise, come to Idaho for the real thing.

Once again, thank you all for making the Tribe/Cervelo/CAF thing happen. I’m very proud.

Cheers!

Sounds good. I’ll be at the San Diego race as well. Will be sure to sport the apparel before and after, but I will be in my club jersey during (Camp Pendleton Tri Team (civilian member)).

I agree with Stephen, this is EXCELLENT!! Keep the pictures coming in, everyone looks SO great in their gear!! Any Tribe members in the Toronto region? I keep my eyes peeled on my rides for Tribe folk (yes, Julian that means the hubby finally built my new bike up and I am loving it!!).

cheers,

Heather

Excellent. Now where are those picture of your Ltd Edition, Heather. A rare and beatuiful creature should be shown on these pages. Oh, and the bike of course

Well…yes a picture is totally necessary. I will take a shot of it this weekend and post

Cheers,

H

I’ll hang around for that, I need a new screensaver.

I guess I should make sure it is good picture then…

Any other Tribe folk out there have a great picture of their gear to show off? Have the Mounties visited anyone lately?

I hope everyone has the same glorious weather we have here today.

cheers,

H

With the new gear out there a question arises: is there a universally recognized way to acknowledge a tribesman should you spot one during training/race? Like a handshake, gang sign, mating call, etc? If not, I’d love to hear suggestions.

Last Sat in Whole Foods with my kids a 60ish hippie type dude (I’ll be one too) chases me down to ask if I was part of the Peace Movement and could he join my organization. I said well sure, but I’m not quite sure he fully understood why a group of triathletes has a peaceful tribe.

Then a little old lady (I don’t plan to be one) thinks it is funny that with my wild 2, 4 and 6 year olds that I have a shirt that says Peaceful Tribe…at least it is getting noticed!

a little cross-training, since surf was up in Colorado this weekend:

you can’t really tell except for the little ‘cervelo’ on the sleeve, but that is in fact a peaceful tribe LS T under my PFD… worked great, fast-drying and comfortable.

That’s awesome, I’m soo glad we have these now. When I was at IMF this last november, I was looking for the other ST’s but couldn’t find anyone. Now we can all wear these and it’ll be easy.
