Posting it his thread to check on advice.
I just finished Swansea. Debating if I stay for awards. Doubt it’ll roll that much! Or do I just make the 3 hour drive home!?
I ended up around 267th male overall. 31st in the 45-49 AG. Race is still going on but that is about my ranking. I was trying to figure out the timing. I finished in 5:25 and I think they would take .89 of my time as my “handicap?” Do they re do the rankings?
Thanks again
I just did Muncie yesterday, 70 slots were available. Took third in my age group, but had no intention of doing worlds in Nice. Hoping for something in the US in 2027. Didn’t stay for awards but heard slots rolled down to 65 or more from the performance pool.
Thanks!
Thats in the US though, so prob a lot more roll. Europe will be competitive since the race is in Nice and still a long way away.
How did rolldown go at Swansea. Some friends did IM70.3 Lux and it rolled (on the men’s side) to 45 with 35 slots at hand, so not much considering the number of age groups. But Lux is day of driving from Nice.
I just got word from some friends at Musselman that it rolled to around 150 on the men’s side. On the womens’ side one of my friends who is a multi time Kona and 70.3 finisher and gets on her age group podium all the time and just had a really bad day in the heat walking a lot ended up around 90 virtual and got a rolldown
So, in the performance slot pool you still have to attend the awards ceremony? ick lol.
No you don’t have to attend the awards, you can just go home.
haha yeah, everyone in a qual race I am in should skip awards and rolldown and GO HOME !!!

Anyone know what Swansea rolled to?
Thanks for the detailed info on this. I’m racing Boise and am hoping to get a women’s Nice slot. I’m hoping that with the flat Boise course a lot of women won’t want to go play in the French Alps. The date of the race also plays into my favor.
Maybe I’m missing understanding the allocation or the descriptions above. Are there separate performance pools for men and women?
For 70.3 seperate performance pools by gender, for full IM its combined
