More correctly my observation since it was my girlfriends bike fit @ Landis Cyclery Tempe AZ. We had booked the 45min bike fit @ 9am appointment online. Showed up around 8:15am ready to go and met Dan Empfield for the first time. Didn’t really know what to expect, I’m more of a longtime lurker here on ST and have been on the receiving end of having a post removed by the administrator. So I did have my doubts and minor preconceived notions. I immediately liked the man , the myth, the legend called SLOWMAN. Very helpful, enthusiastic, and willing to part his knowledge to all… OK enough smoke blown a$$ kissing…
The Fit - started right on time at 9am , was done at 9:45am… Bikes from 2 manufacturers were prescribed based on the pad stack/reach numbers from the fit bike…These included frame size, stems, spacers, bars, etc… Pad stack/reach from current bike (that has been ridden for 4 years ) were checked and correlated (these numbers were almost exactly the same as the numbers Dan came up with in mere minutes)…
Landis and Trek - The Trek SC was the bike of choice , yes that is what Landis sells … That bike is absolutely gorgeous though. I ride a Felt DA2 and now I want one… The person who actually got the fit will probably go with Project One Trek SC thru Landis… There was lots more going on at Landis during roadshow and also spoke to the Trek rep who has been at Trek for 19 years .
Following up with Dan via email - Due to my errors not his I had many questions. He very patiently helped me figure out my errors.
Hope this helps somebody , specially if your on the fence about attending the ST Roadshow
