My 1st run in Skins Powersox

So i ran about 1:30 today wearing those Skins Compression Powersox. Wish they came in white. I am not sure how i was supposed to feel during the run but i honestly didnt feel any differences. I did notice that it kept my sweat from dripping all the way down to my socks so that was good. But in terms of performance…i think i am missing something. Or maybe my running is just so bad that it aint gonna make any differences! :frowning:

Can anyone who has used these shed some light pls?

I love training in them. Can definitely feel a difference in soreness/recovery afterwards, especially on harder workouts. Even greater difference on the asphalt compared to dirt/softer surfaces.

You are not running at the right location! Now, next time go to a track, preferably at a peak time when everybody is training. When they start to stare at you like you are a Martian, the power of the compression socks kick in, you will start to run like never before just because of sheer embarrassment.
Also you’ll get great looks if you run on a treadmill in a crowded gym. Last week I think somebody actually fell off when they saw me.

I’ve noticed that I don’t get anything from them during a workout but wearing them after a workout for recovery is where I’ve gotten the most gains. Particularly noticeable after sleeping in them after a hard day.

Yep, I use mine for recovery purposes. That said that are not skins but are made by medi which are made to your own measurements by a surgical company. I got these about 3, 4 years ago for flying after a thread about the fact that sports and off the counter socks have no standardised compression factor but medical use ones do (I forgot who it was by). I have a pair of the skins recovery tights but am not too impressed by them. The compression in the thigh and glut seem too weak and I don’t like having the stirrup over the whole foot as it creases up under socks.

I really like my skins, but only use them for recovery and will wear them for the rest of the day and night after a long run.

I found a cheap alternative for better recovery of the entire leg after running or bike workouts. Bicycle leg warmers.

For me they work perfect and for about $20 they sure are cheaper than those compression tights.
