I have a buddy who signed up for IMLP '06 via active.com 2 times because he kept on getting error messages. He’s listed as a participant 3 times. With the popularity of the event, and the number of registration attempts all at the same time, I bet that active.com just got overwhelmed. Anyone have an idea what happens to those extra slots? My buddy used his AMEX, and he disputed 2 of the 3 payments via them. AMEX told him he wouldn’t have to pay and not to worry about it. I can’t think he’s the only poor bastardo that this happened to… Thoughts?
If you look at the entrants list, you’ll see a few people double registered. Assuming these occured under similar circumstances I imagine that IMNA will just count the extra 5-10 registrations as part of their expected drop list. They let a number higher than they want register, knowing there’s a certain percentage that’ll never make it to the start line. These 5-10 will probably get lumped into that calculation or maybe get converted to community fund. I seriously doubt they’ll open the site back up for that few slots.
Email from IMUSA - " Nothing happens with those slots. It is unfortunate for those trying to get in that others are so anxious that they end of register more than once. Community fund slots are now open." /me beats on his buddy with a rotten/decaying fish!
looks more like >50 slots. Lots of doubles and some triples. Wonder how that happened? Must be double “submits” or something.
People who don’t understand that when you hit submit you only press the button once.
