Moving to Lawrenceville Ga

So anyone around the Lawrenceville Ga area? I am moving there in just over a month and will be looking for some group rides/places to train. It will be a welcome to not have the snowy winters of the Midwest anymore.

Roadie21, Here are some links to places I go. Feel free to check them out and ask any questions.

Swimming there’s “Swim Atlanta” off Hwy 316/Old Norcross in Lawrenceville http://www.swimatlanta.com/Sugarloaf%20Information.html

Also, Gwinnett county has built some new water parks. Here’s a link to the county parks in case your looking to swim, mountain bike, or run.

I ride with these guys/gals http://www.gtcbike.org/ Check out their ride calendar. Lawrenceville is only about a 1 hour drive from the North Ga mountains. I usually go up every other weekend and do 3-Gaps or 6-Gaps.

Hope this helps!

Roadie21,

Check out www.winterbikeleague.com. You’re only going to be a relatively short drive from one of the coolest and largest winter cycling events in the country. The winter bike league goes every Saturday from early December through February and attracts hundred of cyclists from all over GA, SC and elsewhere. Pros like Nathan O’Neil (SP?) and the Jittery Joes pro cycling team regularly attend, along with folks from every other race team around. But everyone’s welcome.

I think you’ll find you’re on one of the better sides of Atlanta for finding some open roads. You’ll probably want to head east towards Monroe and Athens for most of your riding.

FYI, I live about 90 minutes due east of there … just across the border in South Carolina.
