I’m really curious about this. I thought this was one of King’s better recent novels - a worthy sequel to a classic. However, the subject matter was particularly tough to stomach - child torture and murder. There was a particular passage in the novel that was quite disturbing. It will be interesting to see how this is handled. I guess IT had some of the same issues though.

Stephen King would disagree with you. He hated Kubrick’s movie and didn’t like Nicholson as Jack either. He said in the movie, Jack started crazy and just got crazier, where in the book it is a slow descent into madness.
I’d say King’s movie adaptations are mostly miss. Interesting that his most successful adaptation (i’m guessing) The Shining, he doesn’t like. Kind of strange, since he has has created so much rich content. I guess Misery was pretty darn good as a movie.
King also insists on being the reader for his audio books (at least he used to) which was excruciating to listen too. I stopped listening to his books because of it, it was so annoying.

I wanted to and was willing to pay…say 100$ for Endgame and a nice burger/beer out, but every show was 3D or that other sound enhancement that gives me a migraine.
I hope if Avatar comes out that they have a normal version.

I hate 3D movies unless the 3D really does enhance the viewing experience and was meant to be part of the film’s cinematography… like Avatar. I think everyone would disagree with you about watching Avatar in 2D. Have you watched Avatar without 3D? Yeah, it’s not a very good movie.
There were a shit ton of non-3D viewings in my local theaters. More than 3D.

I would agree with this, I didn’t like the movie. The book was awesome and the movie just never felt right to me. King puts so much description into everything, there isn’t enough time to do all of that in the movie.
