I’m about to get my Trainerroad on after a winter run focus but as I was setting everything up for tomorrow, I ran into a snag- the tablet mount that came with my Tacx trainer is designed to mount right where my clip-on aerobars mount.
Does anyone have a clever way around this? I saw DCR’s homemade stand made from a mic stand, so I guess that’s a cheap option. Has anyone else found other solutions?

I also copied the mic stand and it worked well. Just upgraded to the Wahoo desk. Nice quality and just a couple of minutes to set up.
Built this stand out of some 1 1/2" PVC pipes and a chunk of spare plywood. Super-easy to do, cost less than $15 and took me about 30 minutes to put together. I have since lowered the height so that the table is below my brake levers.
I also have a Tacx tablet mount (got it off of another ST’r in the classifieds). I also ran into the can’t mount it on my aero base bar (even if I could I wouldn’t be able to use my aerobars…so kind of a no go for TT bikes).
I made my own franken setup like so:
Got an alloy adjustable flagpole (off of amazon, was $7) and some sch 40 PVC pipe (3/4" so the OD is just over 1" and spent like $5). Mounted it to my treadmill frame using industrial rated velcro (aready had some on hand), duct tape and some bungee cords (as a 3rd line of insurance). That way I can move it out of the way. I have it setup like this because sometimes I swap out my Fluid trainer for rollers.
I also opted to not mount it to the wall because I didn’t want to drill into that and make it something permanent.
What I really should do is drill a through hole and a put a bolt to have an anchor point to keep the mount from rotating (it isn’t a super tight fit, even with a few turns of duct tape to increase the thickness of the pipe). It works though and my only wish is I have a bigger tablet screen (have a Nexus 7 but it works well enough…use bluetooth headphones to hear better over my cooling fans).
Side note, previous owner’s of my house had a dog and that stain on the carpet next to the treadmill was there prior to me moving in. Tried to use a carpet cleaner but it is still there. One of these days I’m getting new carpet down there but only after I fix some other things first…sigh, the joys of home ownership

I have the Mic stand with a Nootle Tablet holder. It works amazingly well and looks good too.
