Motion Control Shoes for Posterior Tibial Tendon soreness?

I have had on and off issues with the posterior tibial tendon in my left leg over the last couple years and noticed it in a new way during a long run this morning. Whereas in the past I have gotten heel pain during and after a run from my anlke collapsing inward, today today I had no heel pain at all but could actually feel the PTT near my ankle and going up above to the inside of my calf. It would not call it painful necessarily but I could feel it if that makes any sense. Also, it has not been sore later in the day. Not sure if its is related I recently was re-fit on my tri-bike and it has really cleared up some tightness in my hips that makes me feel much more balanced both on the bike and running. It was also discovered during the fitting process that my left lower leg is almost a half centimeter longer than my right. I am now wondering if this new feeling is a good sign in that the PTT had been shut off and I am now using it in a new/correct way that is causing this sensation/soreness as it fatigues while it gets used to the new workload or if it is actually a bad sign of further deterioration of the PTT.

I am currently running in Mizuno Wave Inspires with foam eva orthotics but I was thinking about trying a motion control shoes with more medial support for the PTT to see what that does. Be interested to hear from any others who have dealt with similar PTT issues.

You mention foam eva orthotics. typically this will have more in common with an over the counter product, most if not all eva made orthotics I have seen you can collapse with your hand, let alone your body weight.

cheapest and easiest route for you is just like you say, try a more supportive shoe and see what happens. if does not help you may benefit from a more supportive orthotic, something made for your weight and activity level.
