Most Flat Resistant Tubulars

Would it be the Conti Gatorskins or is there something better out there?

Probably the Gatorskin, yeah.

Gatorskins are great, as are some of the Tufo tubs. (In both cases you pay for it with slightly above-par rolling resistance.)

I like the new Vittoria Corsa EVO CX II’s- new 320tpi is the tightest casing in the business for great flat protection, and they’re extremely supple & smooth (=fast!) as well.

Some Stan’s NoTubes in the tire can also help with flat resistance, with only a negligible weight penalty. Been running that in 2 tubular wheelsets all year and no flats so far…

Gatorskins . . . ugh. Had two bad experiences one right after another with them. I’ll never go back to them, ever. Doing just fine with Vredsteins. 700x21 Narrower than the Gatorskins, with a higher max. PSI

Ah, nope. Veloflex Records (not sure about the Carbons) have been at 350tpi for years. FMB and Dugast are likely higher (sure feel like it), but don’t “publish” it.

My bad- Records are indeed 350 tpi. I never paid attention to those because they’re only made in 20mm widths. The Carbons are fine tires that I used prior to switching to the EVO CX I’s, but I made the change precisely due to flats. Those are 300tpi. As for the Dugast tires, I’ve never seen anyone run those outside the velodrome. But it wouldn’t surprise me if their casing tpi is high, esp the silk tires.

Slightly? Ha!
